Mitotic Cycle

Mitotic Cycle

the totality of processes that produce two new cells from an already existing cell. It includes mitosis and part of the interphase, the period between cell divisions during which preparation for the next mitotic division occurs. The mitotic cycle is part of the life cycle of the cell, with which it almost coincides in rapidly dividing cell populations (for example, in blastomeres of the dividing egg).
