mitral gradient

mi·tral gra·di·ent

the diastolic pressure difference between the left atrium and left ventricle.

mi·tral gra·di·ent

(mī'trăl grā'dē-ĕnt) During diastole, difference in pressure between left atrium and left ventricle. A normal mitral valve does not impede the flow of blood from left atrium to left ventricle during (ventricular) diastole; pressures in left atrium and left ventricle during diastole are therefore equal.
