Mitrofan Stepanovich Bodnarskii

Bodnarskii, Mitrofan Stepanovich

 

Born Dec. 24, 1870, in the village of Svershchevo, Kholmsk District, Lublin Province; died Sept. 19, 1953, in Moscow. Soviet geographer. Doctor of geographical sciences (1936).

Bodnarskii graduated from Moscow University in 1910 and began teaching there in 1912, becoming a professor in 1925. He also lectured in other higher educational institutions in Moscow as well as in Ivanovo, Voronezh, and Mogilev. His principal works are devoted to the history of geography and geographical discoveries.
