laser-assisted epithelial keratoplasty

laser-assisted epithelial keratoplasty (LASEK),

refractive surgery in which the epithelial layer of the cornea is removed and the corneal stroma is replaced with an excimer laser to achieve the desired refraction. The epithelial layer is then replaced.
