Liudvinskaia, Tatiana

Born May 5 (17), 1887, in the small town of Tal’noe, now Cherkassy Oblast; died Feb. 3, 1976, in Moscow. An active participant in the revolutionary movement. Member of the Communist Party from 1903. Daughter of a petty merchant.

Liudvinskaia was a worker at a knit goods shop in Uman’ from 1900. She was engaged in party work in Odessa from 1903 and was a member of the Odessa Committee of the RSDLP from 1905 to 1907 and a member of the St. Petersburg party committee from 1907 to 1909. Liudvinskaia was frequently subjected to repression and was an emigree from 1911 to 1917, working as a member of the committee and a secretary of the Paris section of the Bolsheviks. In May 1917 she moved to Petrograd and then worked at the Bogorodsk (Noginsk) district committee of the RSDLP (Bolshevik); in October she was elected to the revolutionary military committee of Sushchevsko-Mar’inskii Raion in Moscow. A member of the Moscow Committee of the RCP (Bolshevik) and of the Moscow soviet after the October Revolution of 1917, Liudvinskaia worked from 1920 at the Sokol’niki and then at the Krasnaia Presnia raion party committee. She also served as secretary of the Yaroslavl city committee of the ACP (Bolshevik) from 1925 to 1926. She was head of the party work office of the Moscow Committee of the ACP(B) from 1927 to 1931. She became a member of the Presidium of the All-Union Society of Old Bolsheviks in 1930. She was a delegate to the Eighth, Tenth, and Fourteenth Party Congresses and received a special pension in 1936. She was awarded two Orders of Lenin.
