liver failure infantile transient

liver failure infantile transient

A transient disorder of liver function (OMIM:580000) characterised by elevated liver enzymes, jaundice, vomiting, coagulopathy, hyperbilirubinaemia and increased serum lactate. Infants who survive the initial acute episode usually recover, with normal development and no recurrence.
Molecular pathology
Defects of TRMU, which encodes a mitochondria-specific, tRNA-modifying enzyme, cause transient infantile liver failure.
