Mezenskaia Pizhma

a river in Arkhangel’sk Oblast, RSFSR, with its sources in Komi ASSR. Right tributary of the Mezen’ River. Length, 236 km; basin area, 3,830 sq km. The Mezenskaia Pizhma rises in the Chetlasskii Kamen’ Hills (Timanskii Ridge). It is fed by various means, predominantly by snow. High water is from May to June, with flooding in summer and fall. Average discharge of water 61 km from the mouth is 41.9 cu m per sec.
