Location:In northern central Massachusetts, on Winchester Road in Warwick, off Route 78.
Facilities:Picnic area, restrooms, trails.
Activities:Hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, hunting (with restrictions), snowmobiling.
Special Features:In 1676, during the era of Colonial skirmishes against the WampanoagIndians known as King Phillip's War, Mary Rowland and her infantdaughter Grace were captured by a band of King Phillip's warriors. On amarch toward Canada the baby died, and it is said that she was buriedby her mother's hands at the foot of the mountain that now bears hername.
