Maximow’s method

Maximow’s method

A method for staining paraffin-embedded sections of bone marrow, which stains nuclei blue; basophilic leukocytes, mast cells and cartilage purple; erythrocytes and eosinophilic granules pink; and cytoplasm pale pink to pale blue. Named for AA Maximow (1874–1928), a Russian-American histologist; the method is rarely used in the working medical practice.
