Mountain summit includes the historic Bascom Lodge andthe 92-foot-high War Veterans' Memorial Tower. The property wasacquired by the Commonwealth in 1898 and became its first state park. A14-mile segment of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail passes throughthe reservation.
