Mount Lofty

a mountain range in South Australia, east of the Gulf of St. Vincent. Elevation, to 934 m. The range is composed of gneisses, shales, and limestones. The southern section is covered with hard-leaved eucalyptus forests, the northern section with scrublands. The port of Adelaide is located at the foot of the southwestern slopes.
