Miyazu

(mēyä`zo͞o), town (1990 pop. 26,450), Kyoto prefecture, S Honshu, Japan, on Miyazu Bay. It is a fishing port and processes marine products. Nearby is Ama-no-hashidate, or "heaven's bridge," a long promontory covered with pine trees whose fantastic shapes are reflected in the waters of the bay.
