Two planets are in mutual reception when they are in each other’s signs. If in a given horoscope, for example Mercury is in Aries (which is ruled by Mars) and Mars is in Gemini (which is ruled by Mercury), then Mercury and Mars are in mutual reception. Astrologers interpret mutual reception as being equivalent to a conjunction between the two planets involved.
