The lateral vestibular nucleus extends rostrally, beginning near the front end of the inferior vestibular nucleus. It lies in the floor of the fourth ventricle near the lateral edge, it receives axons from the vestibular ganglia (via the vestibulocochlear nerve (CN VIII)) and from the deep cerebellar nuclei, and it sends axons to the cerebellum and to all levels of the ipsilateral spinal cord via the vestibulospinal tract.
