Location:Off Highway 243 near Idyllwild.
Facilities:81 developed campsites (31 with hot showers and flush toilets, 50 withvault toilets), 48 primitive wilderness campsites (hike-in), groupwilderness sites (maximum of 15 people per group), picnic areas,trails, visitor center, food service, gift shop, aerial tram. Permitrequired for wilderness camping.

Special Features:Mount San Jacinto stands at 10,804 feet in an area of magnificent granite peaks, subalpine forests, and fern-bordered mountain meadows. Most of the park is a designated wilderness area used by hikers and backpackers; a segment of the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail passes through the park (see entry in national trails section). An aerial tram from Palm Springs takes passengers from Valley Station (2,643 feet) to Mountain Station (8,516 feet) along the edge of the wilderness area.
