The maximum TAS (true air speed) that can be obtained in a steady level flight irrespective of altitude. The maximum level speed is attained at a point where the power-available and the power-required curves intersect. There may be some other limiting factors, such as the limit of aerodynamic heating, the compressibility effect, the limiting Mach number, and the engine design features.
