Nikolai Trublaini

Trublaini, Nikolai Petrovich

 

(real surname Trubla-evskii). Born Apr. 12 (25), 1907, in the village of Vil’shanka, in what is now KryzhopoP Raion, Vinnitsa Oblast; died Oct. 5, 1941, near Dnepropetrovsk. Soviet Ukrainian writer. Member of the CPSU from 1939.

Trublaini wrote works intended primarily for children and adolescents. He is the author of the adventure novellas Lakhtak (1935), The Travellers (1938), The Schooner “Columbus” (1940), and Eagles’ Nests (unfinished, 1941; Russian translation 1957). He also wrote the science-fiction novel Deep Path (1948; Russian translation 1962). Trublaini’s works have been translated into the national languages of the USSR.

Trublaini died at the front during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–45.
