Terziev, Nikolai Vladimirovich
(also N. V. Poroshin). Born July 29 (Aug. 10), 1890; died Sept. 22,1962. Soviet scholar, jurist, and criminalist. Doctor of the science of law (1941); professor (1944). Honored Scientist of the RSFSR (1960).
From 1936 to 1962, Terziev did scholarly work and taught at the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, at the Scientific Research Institute of Soviet Legislation, and at the All-Union Correspondence Juridical Institute. His major research dealt with problems of expert examination in court. The methods of identification and criminalistic techniques developed by Terziev are widely applied in court proceedings.
