Nilsen, Rudolf

 

Born Feb. 28, 1901, in Oslo; died Apr. 23, 1929, in Paris. Norwegian poet and journalist. Member of the Communist Party of Norway from 1923.

Nilsen began his literary activity in 1921. From 1924 to 1926 he wrote for the newspaper Norges kommunistblad. His first collection of poetry, On Stony Ground (1925), was devoted to the life of workers and to nature in Norway. He told about his trips to the USSR in the collection of poetry Until We Meet Again (1926). His last collection, The Weekday (1929), was published posthumously.
