Lautner, John

(1911–1994)American architect who studied with Frank Lloyd Wright and set up practice in Los Angeles, CA designing original private homes. The most well known are the Malin House, now the Kuhn house (illus.), Los Angeles, CA (1960), where the entire structure is carried on one pier, and the Elrod House, Palm Springs, CA (1968), with massive roof frames and wedge-shaped windows.
