[TA] the plane of the middle hepatic vein that separates the right and left (parts of the) liver; its position is estimated superficially by the Cantlie line, extrapolated from the notch for the gallbladder to the superior aspect of the groove for the vena cava on the diaphragmatic surface and the right sagittal fissure on the visceral surface.
