Sazonova, Nina Afanas’evna
Born Dec. 25, 1916 (Jan. 7, 1917), in the village of Konstantinovka, in what is now Moscow Oblast. Soviet Russian actress. People’s Artist of the USSR (1977).
In 1938, Sazonova graduated from the theater school of the Central Theater of the Soviet Army and joined the theater’s company. Her roles have included Tuzikova in Salynskii’s The Drummer Girl, Marfa Krotova in Sheinin’s Game Without Rules, Shitova in Fedenev’s The Snow Has Fallen, the Objective Neighbor and Artina in Drutse’s Casa Mare and Birds of Our Youth, respectively, Vassa in Gorky’s Vassa Zheleznova, and Ul’iana in A. N. Ostrovskii’s The Voevoda. She has appeared in such motion pictures as There’s a Certain Fellow, Women, and the television film Day After Day.
