Location:From I-495 in Lawrence, take Exit 45 (Marston Street), left on Canal Street, then 3 blocks to Jackson Street.

Special Features:This heritage park explains the role the city of Lawrence (one ofAmerica's first planned industrial cities) had increating the labor unions of America. The mills of Lawrence were thesite of the nation's first labor strikes. The visitor center is locatedin a restored 1840s boarding house and features two floors of exhibits.Nearby is 5-acre Pemberton Park, with walking trails, benches, andviews of the city's mills and historic dam. Lawrence Riverfront StatePark has tennis, basketball, and street hockey courts, a children'splay area, walking trails, and a sledding hill.
