Occupancy sensing

Occupancy sensing

Motion sensors that control lights according to space occupancy. Passive infrared sensors are the most common. Ultrasonic sensors work better in places with partitions. Sensors have sensitivity and time-out adjustments to fine-tune their use. Wall box sensors with internal switches or dimmers are used for small rooms. Multiple sensors are needed for larger spaces. Energy credit for their use are substantial, and the payback is short for retrofit applications.
