Makarova Inna Vladimirovna

Born July 28, 1928, in the city of Taiga, in present-day Kemerovo Oblast. Soviet Russian actress. People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1971).

Makarova graduated from the department of acting of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography, where she had studied in the studio of S. A. Gerasimov and T. F. Makarova. She made her film debut in the role of Liuba Shevtsova in The Young Guard (1948, based on A. A. Fadeev’s novel). Makarova is particularly adept at portraying the contemporary woman— a woman who is energetic, sincere, direct, and charming. Her best roles include Katia in Height (1957), Varia in My Dear Fellow (1958), Nadia in The Girls (1962), and Dusia in Women (1966). She also plays witty, comic roles, such as Nonna in The Case of Rumiantsev (1956), Anfisa in The Marriage of Ba’zaminov (1965, based on A. N. Ostrovskii’s play), and Dun’ka in Liubov’larovaia (1970, based on K. A. Trenev’s play). She has been awarded the State Prize of the USSR (1949) and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
