Established: 1979.
Location:60 miles north of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Special Features:Refuge was established to secure habitat for the endangered Moapa dace, a small fish found in headwaters of the Muddy River. In the last decade, dace populations have declined due to habitat destruction.
Habitats: 106 acres of Mohave desert, palm trees, spring heads, and associated outflow channels and aquatic habitat.
Access: Closed to the general public.
Wild life: Endangered Moapa dace.
