ambulance trust

The organisational infrastructure of mobile emergency health care services in the UK, which are provided by personnel (paramedics) deployed in a rapid-response vehicle (van, car, helicopter, motorcycle, pushbikes/bicycles), which usually transport the patient to hospital if the emergency cannot be addressed in the field. There are 9 regional ambulance trusts in England. The NHS is responsible for providing transport to get people to hospital for treatment. In many areas, the Ambulance Trust provides this service.
