释义 | McGuane, ThomasMcGuane, Thomas (Francis III)(1939– ) writer; born in Wyandotte, Mich. He studied at the University of Michigan, Olivet College, Michigan State (B.A. 1962), Yale (M.F.A. 1965), and Stanford (1966–67). He began his writing career as a flamboyant satirist, as seen in The Bushwacked Piano (1971). After a serious auto accident (1972), he worked as a scriptwriter in Hollywood and directed the screen adaptation of his novel, Ninety-two in the Shade (1973). He wrote about his newly hedonistic lifestyle in Panama (1977), and married for the third time in the same year. He settled down on a ranch in McLeod, Mont., and continued to write. |
