Noska
a river in Tiumen’ Oblast, RSFSR, a left tributary of the Irtysh. It is 374 km long and drains an area of 8,500 sq km. The Noska originates in Lake Noskinbash and flows across the Western Siberian Plain. It is fed predominantly by snow, with high water from April to June. The mean flow rate of the river is about 12 cu m per sec. The Noska freezes at the end of October and the ice breaks up at the beginning of May. Its main right tributary is the Laima. Sturgeon spawn in the lower reaches of the river, which are also inhabited by peled (Coregonus peled) and otters.
