Nissequogue River State Park
Location:North shore of Long Island.
Facilities:Trails, boat launch, boat rentals, play field, interpretive displays, visitor center/museum, marina, guided tours, bike rentals, conference room.
Activities:Fishing, hiking, biking, boating (nonpowered only), bird watching, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing.
Special Features:Tidal and fresh water wetlands and hardwood forests provide habitat for shore birds, reptiles, and amphibians. The Greenbelt Trail parallels the Nissequogue River, affording scenic views of the river and Long Island Sound from the top of the bluffs. A section of the park has been designated a State Bird Conservation Area.
