The normal markings for such runways include a centerline marking, a designation marking, a threshold marking, a fixed-distance marking on runways that are 4000 ft (1200 m) or longer, a holding position marking for taxiway or runway intersections and ILS (instrument landing system) critical areas, and holding position markings at runways or runway intersections when runways are used for “land and hold-short operations” or taxiing. |
