MOC 31 MOC 31 A mouse monoclonal antibody that recognises a 38-kD membrane glycoprotein present in epithelial cells (epithelial cell-adhesion molecule), which in humans is encoded by EPCAM. The MOC-31 epitope is similar to epithelial membrane antigen (EMA) and expressed in a wide array of carcinomas, but not in lymphomas, melanomas, mesotheliomas or neuroblastomas. It is absent in hepatocellular carcinoma, but present in most other carcinomas including cholangiocarcinoma. |
