Tuostakh

Tuostakh

 

a river in the Yakut ASSR; a right tributary of the Adycha River in the lana River basin. The Tuostakh is 271 km long and drains an area of 20,000 sq km. It is formed by the confluence of the Khara-Salaa and Bodymba rivers, which rise in the Cherskii Range. The river is fed mainly by rain. It freezes in October, and the ice breaks up in May or early June. There are over 40 bodies of layered ice (seeAUFEIS) in the Tuostakh River basin, which covers an area of more than 77 sq km.
