Overperform

Overperform

To appreciate at a rate faster than appreciation of the overall market.

Overperform

To perform better than the market as a whole for a stated period of time. To overperform does not necessarily mean to perform well. For example, if the market is expected to go down significantly, a stock may be said to overperform even if it dips slightly, provided it does not dip as far as the market as a whole.
