Vanderbijlpark

a city in the Republic of South Africa, in Transvaal Province; situated near the Vaal River, not far from Vereeniging. Population, 71,000 (1969). The city was founded in 1942 as a result of the establishment of the Industrial and Steel Corporation (ISCOR). Vanderbijlpark has a fossil-fuel-fired steam power plant.
