A process by which an arch, or course of bricks or stone, is made to project over a similar arch or course below; a type of repeated corbeling.

A term descriptive of a surface that projects beyond the general face of the wall immediately below. For example, an oversailing course of brickwork projects beyond the general face of a wall; an oversailing gable end is a gable end that overhangs the floor immediately below it.
