The festival in his honor, known as Quecholli, was observed with a ceremonial hunt. According to the civil cycle of the Aztec calendar—which consisted of 18 months of 20 days each, plus five unlucky days—Quecholli was celebrated at the end of the 14th month. This was also the day on which weapons were made.
