ADRA2C ADRA2C A gene on chromosome 2p13-q13 that encodes alpha-2C-adrenergic receptor, a member of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily, which plays a critical role in regulating neurotransmitter release from sympathetic nerves and from adrenergic neurons in the CNS. ADRA2C is required for presynaptic control of transmitter release from sympathetic nerves in the heart and central noradrenergic neurons. |
