Queen Maud Gulf


Queen Maud Gulf

 

a gulf of the Arctic Ocean, at the northern shore of Canada, located between the Kent and Adelaide peninsulas. It has a length of 72 km and depths ranging from 30 to 210 m. The shores of the gulf are low-lying and covered with tundra vegetation. Tides occur every 12 hours and measure from 0.3 to 0.9 m. From September to the end of July the Queen Maud Gulf is covered with floating ice.
