DictionarySeepromotionVehbi Sünbülzade Vehbi Sünbülzade Born 1719, in Marash; died Apr. 29, 1809, in Istanbul. Turkish poet. Vehbi Sünbülzade was a teacher, judge, and later, ambassador to Iran (from 1775). His works include qasidas, mathnawi, and the didactic poems Liutfie. His bilingual dictionaries in the form of mathnawi (Persian-Turkic, The Gift, and Arabic-Turkic, Selections) are well known and were long considered model scholarly texts.
