Strobilus a sporebearing spikelet on the end of a shoot in many higher plants, including the Lycopodiophyta, Sphenophyl-lales, Calamitales, Equisetum, and Spermatophyta. Strobili bear sporophylls, which are the modified leaves upon which the spore-bearing organs—sporangia—develop.
