Tooke review

Tooke review

An independent review in 2008 led by Sir John Tooke, MP, of the Modernising Medical Careers (MMC) programme, which was designed to develop and improve postgraduate medical training and education in the UK. Early implementation of MMC was fraught with recruitment issues, after which the MMC Programme Board, doctors, the NHS, the deaneries and Department of Health (DH) revamped recruitment, resulting in the appointment of the proper doctors to training posts. Sir John recommended merging the Post-Graduate Medical Education and Training Board with the GMC.
