a city (since 1938) and administrative center of Pologi Raion, Zaporozh’e Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Situated on the left bank of the Konka River, a tributary of the Dnieper. Railroad junction for the Zaporozh’e, Chaplino, Tsarekonstantinovka, and Berdiansk lines. Population, 21,800 (1974). Pologi has a metal stamping and pressing plant and plants that produce construction materials and mixed feeds. It also has vegetable-oil-extraction and fruit-canning plants, a creamery, a poultry combine, and railroad-transport enterprises.
