Location:Near Hobe Sound in eastern Martin County, 10 miles south of Stuart.
Facilities:8 miles of hiking trails, bathroom facilities, picnic area (no drinking water). Other facilities are under development.
Activities:Hiking, wildlife viewing.
Special Features:Preserve provides an opportunity to experience severaldifferent natural communities in a relatively short distance. Withinthe space of one mile, visitors can see rare sand pine scrub, scrubbyflatwoods, a baygall community, and a mangrove swamp. Protected speciesof plants found here include hand fern, Curtiss' milkweed, yellowbachelor button, and golden polypody.
