Size: More than 630,000 acres.
Location:In the coastal mountain range of west-central Oregon. Accessible by US 20 and 101; OR 18, 34, 36, 38, and 126. Nearby cities/towns include Corvallis, Eugene, Florence, Reedsport, and Waldport.
Facilities:Visitor center; almost 40 campgrounds, trails (230 miles), boat ramps, 2 ORV areas.
Activities:Camping, salt and freshwater fishing, boating, canoeing, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, biking, ORV riding, beachcombing, whale watching.
Special Features:One of only two national forests in the continental U.S. with oceanfront property; Mary's Peak, highest point in the Coastal Range (4,097 feet). Points of interest include Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, Cascade Head Scenic Area, and the historic Heceta Head Lighthouse, a working lighthouse.
