(pol″ē-ē′thĕr) [ poly- + ether] The stiffest of the dental final impression materials, used to construct restorations, prosthetics, and other appliances. It is made from a base containing a polyether polymer, silica, filler, and plasticizer, and an accelerator, made of an alkylaromatic sulfonate, filler, and plasticizer.
