[′rīz·iŋ ¦sən ′mag·nə‚trän] (electronics) A multicavity magnetron in which resonators having two different resonant frequencies are arranged alternately for the purpose of mode separation; the cavities appear as alternating long and short radial slots around the perimeter of the anode structure, resembling the rays of the sun.
