A system of tooth numbering that uses numbers 1 through 32 to identify the permanent teeth. Tooth number 1 is the maxillary right third molar. Tooth number 17 is the mandibular left third molar. Primary teeth are identified similarly, with the letters A through T. See also: tooth numbering system
