Quinn, Edmond Thomas,
1868–1929, American sculptor and painter, b. Philadelphia, studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, with Thomas EakinsEakins, Thomas, 1844–1916, American painter, photographer, and sculptor, b. Philadelphia, where he worked most of his life. Eakins is considered the foremost American portrait painter and one of the greatest artists of the 19th cent.

Of his statues the best known is Edwin Booth as Hamlet, in Gramercy Park, New York City. He made a number of figures for memorials, among them a Victory for the First World War Memorial at New Rochelle, N.Y. One of the most impressive of his many portrait busts is that of Edgar Allan Poe, Bronx, New York City. His Nymph, a statuette, is in the Metropolitan Museum, New York City.
