Strug
Strug
an old type of flat-bottomed sail- or oar-driven riverboat used in Russia. The design and size of a strug depended on where the vessel was built. The length varied from 20 to 45 m and the width between 4 and 9 m. The strug was used from the 11th through the 18th century, chiefly for carrying cargo. A cherdak (cabin) was erected on the vessel for important passengers.
